Biker dies after collision with taxi

A 24-year-old man has died after his off-road motorbike was in collision with a hackney cab near Bishopbriggs.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses after the fatal road crash around 11.05pm on Friday, February 26.

Gordon Lauder (24) died in Glasgow Royal Infirmary a few hours after the accident on Skirsa Street towards its junction with Balmore Road.

Officers said the driver of the taxi and his two passengers were uninjured but have been left badly shaken by the incident.

The road was closed for some time as crash scene investigators conducted enquiries at the location.
