Bishopbriggs singer Amy Macdonald to play live show

Bishopbriggs singer Amy Macdonald has announced a special live show in Glasgow - her first in the city for four years.

The 17th Annual SSE Scottish Music Awards took place this evening, Saturday 28th of November at Glasgow's Old Fruitmarket, to raise much needed funds for Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland. The night, hosted by STVs Jennifer Reoch and Ewen Cameron brought together some of Scotland's most celebrated acts and artists and honoured them with numerous awards, handcrafted for the occasion by Scottish woodwork designer, Paul Hodgkiss. 

Winning the SSE Best Live Act Award was Paisley born singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini, who smashed a headline performance to 35,000 people for Glasgows Summer Sessions at Bellahouston Park, as well selling out two SSE Hydro shows at the start of the year. 

Of the charity, Paolo said:

Amy (29) will perform at the Old Fruitmarket on Tuesday, November 22.

The hugely successful local singer/songwriter released her debut album This Is the Life in 2007 and has now sold more than nine million records worldwide.

This summer her time was split between the recording studio and headlining festivals across Europe.
