Nikki fought off strong competition from her peers to win the coveted place and will now go on to compete in the ‘Grand Final’, which will be held on Monday, June 23 in the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel, in London. This promises to be a thrilling and inspirational evening,

Nikki’s success also wins her a place in the L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Academy 2014/2015, a comprehensive one year development programme designed to inspire and educate the winners with the help of award-winning UK colourists.

She will also be mentored through a bespoke programme to gain a deeper technical understanding of colour whilst being given ideas and techniques to build her creativity.

Brian Gallagher, salon co-owner and current Scottish Hairdresser of the Year said: ‘I’m thrilled that Nikki’s creativity and technical ability has been acknowledged with this incredible achievement.

“Gallagher Horner was placed third overall in the competition last year, so it’s wonderful that we are represented again in 2014 with such a strong entry.

“Stylists such as Nikki are the future of this incredible industry and it’s a privilege to watch her career progress so successfully.’
