Blackwood's Vince D'ambrosio to play at Cliff Richard's 70th birthday party

Vince (57) plays Hank Marvin in the Cliff and the Knights Shadows tribute band alongside former Stars in their Eyes winner Jimmy Jemain.

And the group have been selected to play at Cliff Richard's 70th birthday party, held at the Dorchester Hotel, in London on July 3.

For lifelong Shadows fan Vince, who lives in Blackwood, it was an opportunity he couldn't turn down.

He said: "Jimmy is in touch with Cliff's manager and we got the gig from there. It's sure to be a great night.

"I've never met Cliff but have actually met Hank twice before.

"He performed a concert in Motherwell nine years ago. I got the chance to speak to him and thought he was a gentleman. Before that I met him when he was doing a gig at the Edinburgh Playhouse.

"It's certainly going to be a night we won't forget in a hurry."
