Bookies bet that the SNP will triumph in East Dunbartonshire

East Dunbartonshire MP Jo Swinson is looking like losing her seat at the General Election in six weeks time - if the bookies have got it right.

The odds of an SNP victory have narrowed in recent weeks, with John Nicolson now the odds-on favourite.

And, despite positive polling in the last few days, Labour’s Amanjit Jhund is predicted to come second or third when the votes are counted on May 7.

Ladbrokes are offering odds of just 4/6 on the SNP (meaning for a winning bet of £6 you would get back £10), while Labour and the Lib Dems are on odds of 3/1 (meaning that for the same £6 bet you would get back a total of £24).

Meanwhile William Hill have even longer odds on a Labour victory (4/1) or success for Jo Swinson (10/3) and also have the SNP as clear favourites at 8/13.
