Boy arrested in connection with hoax bomb threats

Police have announced that a 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a number of hoax bomb threats to schools.

Calls were made to schools in Glasgow, Clydebank, Campbeltown and Lanarkshire last week.

One alleged threat to Carluke Primary School last Tuesday resulted in all the children being evacuated and taken to the nearby High Mill Primary.

Police announced last night (Thursday) that a 15-year-old boy had been arrested and that a report would be submitted to the Scottish Children’s Reporter Administrator.

An the police service added: “Police Scotland takes hoax calls extremely seriously. They divert police resources and cause disruption and alarm to the public,”
