A trio of dedicated Boys’ Brigade members from Bishopbriggs were amongst those who received their Queen’s Badge certificates recently.

David Low (182nd BB Company), Fraser Alexander (212nd Glasgow BB Company) and Euan Russell (268th Glasgow BB Company) joined 89 others at a special presentation ceremony in Glasgow City Chambers, which followed a parade through Glasgow city centre.

They were presented with their awards - the highest accolade given by the Boys’ Brigade - by Jim Sweeney, Chief Executive of Youth Link Scotland.

Jim McVean of The Boys’ Brigade Glasgow Battalion, said: “With the increased numbers of Queen’s Badge recipients this year, it shows the continued relevance of The Boys’ Brigade to young people of today. Through two years of working towards the award, these young men have made a tremendous positive impact on their local communities.”

Queen’s Badge recipients have to achieve a number of requirements - including taking on leadership roles and working in the community.
