Customers should not use their water for drinking, cleaning teeth, preparing babies’ feeds and disinfecting equipment, washing and bathing, preparing food (including ice cubes and salads), pet food and drink, washing open wounds, washing dishes and washing clothes.

The advice has been issued after Scottish Water liaised with the Consultant in Public Health Medicine (CPHM) at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

It is likely that the notice not to drink, cook, wash or bathe with tap water will remain in place until at least tomorrow (Friday) afternoon. Affected customers will be advised when the notice has been lifted.
