Bride speaks out after dress shop closes

A Kilsyth bride-to-be was in shock last week after discovering the company she had purchased her dream dress from had closed up shop.

Suzanne McGuire (20) paid £1,800 for her wedding dress to The Bridal Studio in Montrose Street, Glasgow, who announced last week they are ceasing to trade.

A worried Suzanne learned the news via Facebook and has attempted to contacted the company on several occasions - but is yet to receive a response from them.

She said: “When I was wee, that was the shop I used to always go by and I thought they had lovely dresses.

“I booked an appointment with them and found my dream dress which was a one shoulder Lisa Marie model.

“I had planned to customise it with crystals and make the dress unique.

“We paid the dress in instalments and every month, they would call to ask for the latest instalment.

“My family paid off the dress the week before the shop closed and no one said anything.”
