British Airways staff go the extra mile

STAFF at the British Airways base in Glasgow passed through Clydesdale on their way to London - but they were not travelling by air!

Indeed the eight strong team were running the 500 miles, in tandem, from Glasgow to the capital, in aid of Sport Relief.

One team member, Dave McCauley said: “The eight of us were split into two team of four. Each team ran 65 mile sections in approximately 10 hours continuously over the four days and three nights, which equates to four runs per person each covering 65 miles.

“The route took us from Glasgow through Clydesdale, then south to Carlisle then east to Newcastle before heading south to London.

“We took two support vehicles, one for each team, and we also managed to acquire the services of a physio for the full duration who was giving up his time free of charge.”
