British Heart Foundation Red Fun Day in Lanark

OVER 170 people, many of them employees at Lanark's Tesco store, will be walking, running and jogging their way through the town in a very good cause next month.

They will be taking part in the Red Fun Day event being organised nationwide by the British Heart Foundation and locally by Braidwood serial charity fundraiser Stephen McGregor (26).

Said Stephen, of Monks Lane, this week: "Those taking part can take it at their own pace — after all, this is the LAST event you want someone taking a heart attack during!"

The five mile course starts at the Tesco store at Gallowhill at 9.30am on Sunday, March 7, up to Lanark Loch, twice around the loch path, and then back to Tesco's.

Stephen, who has organised several fundraising charity events locally, has some personal motivation in this case; his mother-in-law Dorothy White lost her partner Chuck to heart disease.

Anyone interested in taking part should call Stephen on 07544423838.
