The dinner is run by the Food Trust Scotland under the leadership of well-known local businessman Arthur Bell, its aim to promote the very best that Caledonian cusine has to offer.

But urgent European Union business called Mr Lochhead away on that date.
And his stand-in, Scottish transport and then climate minister Stewart Stevenson, had to cry off – due to the winter transport chaos.
Finally, the Trust had to call on a local resident with not too far to travel.

resident, became the third – and final – guest speaker at the event.

The theme of this year's dinner menu was Maw Broon's Cookbook.
