Brownies give Ayesha’s Appeal big cash boost

The community continues to rally for Ayesha’s Bone Marrow Appeal — a family-run fundraising drive in honour of Mearns girl Ayesha Siddiqui.

The Kirkhill pupil (10) is still in need of a bone marrow donor, but her family have used the time since her diagnosis to raise more than £200,000 for children’s charities Yorkhill and Anthony Nolan.

The latest group to join the fundraising drive are the 3rd Whitecraigs Brownies, led by Brown Owl Yvonne Tough, who held a family day at Broom Church and raised around £900.

The charity cash was split between Ayesha’s Appeal and another cause, Calum’s Cabin, with the Newton Mearns youngster meeting the kind-hearted Brownies to collect a cheque for £469.80.
