JUST how much the game of bridge now spans Clydesdale was illustrated at this recent gathering.

The Lanarkshire Bridge Association held its annual general meeting and prizegiving during which two of our local players stepped up to accept awards.

From Biggar Bridge Club, Steve Whiteford picked up the Alexander MacWilliam Trophy on behalf of his club, it having won the Second Division Championship, meaning it will play next season in the First Division.
