Business awards event raises funds for good causes

More than £8,000 was raised for local good causes at the 2015 East Dunbartonshire Business Awards.

The money will be split between a variety of local charities and organisations including:

*Friends of Kelvinbank

*Hillhead Youth Club

*Twechar Healthy Living & Enterprise Centre

The event was held recently in the The Eagle Lodge, Bishopbriggs.

Council leader Rhondda Geekie said: “The extraordinary generosity of East Dunbartonshire’s businesses, entrepreneurs and guests at the Business Awards dinner shone through again.

“The support for the fundraising raffle and auction was incredible - both on the night from all the people who took part and also in the run-up to the event, when a range of prizes and donations were received from businesses, organisations and individuals.

“I would like to say a sincere thank you to everyone who contributed to the wonderful amount raised - which is testament to local businesses’ continuing support for good causes across the area.”

She added: “Every penny raised will be used to support good causes at the heart of

communities across East Dunbartonshire.”
