Busy life in Banton

BANTON Primary is punching above its weight. This small rural school has so much going on.

Kids are getting crafty at the jewellery club and are selling their beautifully made wares at school fundraisers.

Burns would love to hear that his work means so much to the youngsters sporting the tartan with pride. In fact they have been performing his poems to senior citizens as part of a school-wide project about Scotland.

The school’s games club is a fun way to boost the health and wellbeing of P1 to P3 pupils, under the watchful eye of Mrs McKay. And the football club is loved by girls and boys alike.

Banton Primary can also count these young road safety officers among its number - and they are even organising a Be Bright Be Seen fashion show at the next parent’s evening. The dress code? Day-glo armbands and high-vis vests, naturally!

Let it snow is the ethos of the school which puts great emphasis on outdoor learning and creative play, thanks to its enviable range of facilities. The so-called Banton Builders are bringing brand new apparatus to the playground with wood, logs and rope - and are making this green space an even better place to be.
