Cailean Dunn can finally be blushing bride

CARLUKE bride-to-be Cailean Dunn can finally be the blushing bride she deserves to be, after enduring enough pre-wedding mishaps to last a lifetime.

The wedding preparations for the big day - which will take place at the Shawlands Hotel, Larkhall, on July 23 - were going swimmingly for Cailean (23) and her fiance Gavin Cargill.

But disaster struck, when two weeks later her step-dad had two heart attacks in one week.

She said: "It was the worst thing ever, because he's my dad. The whole situation floored me. He was left out of work for a long time, and my parents struggled financially."

All sadness aside, the bride and her mum went to look at wedding dresses on a girly day out at a Glasgow bridal shop.

Cailean said: "I unexpectedly found my perfect wedding dress and decided to buy it.

"The shop wanted half of the total balance paid upfront, so being as excited as we were, we agreed and paid it."

She claimed that four months later, they were watching BBC news and found out that the shop had gone bust.
