Call for police and council help over Kilsyth hotspots

FED-UP Kilsyth residents say more needs to be done to tackle a disorder hotspot in the town.

Police have responded to 184 incidents in the Main Street over the last 12 months, and 47 of those call outs were because of anti-social behaviour.

Members of Kilsyth Community Council heard at their meeting on Wednesday, August 15, that the town’s Main Street has become a problem area.

It was claimed seating in the town centre encourages groups involved in the disorder to ‘hang around’.

Street drinking and urinating in public are some of the offences that have taken place.
