Candidates to have their say

The Scottish Parliament election will be with us in a matter of weeks as candidates battle it out to become our representatives at Holyrood.

Once again the Herald has teamed up with Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce to stage a hustings event to give candidates the chance to put their own and their party’s political points of view across to members of the business community and others.

The hustings takes place in McGregor House, in Southbank Business Park, Kirkintilloch, on Thursday, April 21, from 12pm - 2pm.

Chamber member and Kirkintilloch businessman Robert Wilson said: “Although the hustings meeting is primarily for businessmen and women, anyone who would like to come along will be welcome.

“We’ve held a number of these events at various elections and they are always very well attended.

“They also give the candidates an opportunity to answer some of the very important and interesting questions people may have.”

Herald editor Jim Holland said: “The hustings meeting organised by the Chamber of Commerce before last year’s General Election was an excellent event, and the candidates played a huge part in making it such a success.

“There’s a lot of excitement and anticipation building ahead of the Holyrood election in May and the hustings meeting on April 21 should be another successful event.
