Car crashes through hedge in rush-hour accident

A woman escaped serious injury when her car left the road and crashed into a hedge in Kirkintilloch during rush hour this morning (Wednesday).

The 40-year-old motorist lost control of the Citreon around 8am on Glasgow Road near Kirkintilloch fire station.

Emergency services attended and the driver was checked at the scene by paramedics and released.

Police directed traffic while the car was removed from the scene.
