East Dunbartonshire Council wants to build the three-bed unit for children with disabilities in St Mary’s Road, adjacent to Turnbull High School.

But it was a agreed that councillors visit the site before a decision is made.

The planning department has received eight letters of objection from residents opposed to the plans.

Their concerns include that it would result in a loss of privacy, would mean a loss of communal open greenspace, and that the site is unsuitable due to the existing traffic already associated with the nearby high school.
