Participants will have the option of a 10k Road Race or a family-friendly Fun Run which is suitable for all ages and abilities.

A new route has been devised and expanded around Yieldshields to enable runners to challenge themselves to an achievable 10k distance and the Trust says that both they and the Lanarkshire Beatson Centre at Monklands Hospital “are hoping for a fantastic turn-out of runners, joggers, walkers and spectators on the day.”

Kathleen Feeney, Trust development manager, said: “We are delighted to launch our new Carluke 10k.

“I am excited to continue our collaboration with this amazing charity that will directly benefit Lanarkshire patients and families.

“ The new ‘Carluke 10k’ is an opportunity for runners and walkers of all abilities to come together to show their support for a friend or loved one, or just participate to be part of the amazing atmosphere this event creates in the town.

“Additionally the new extended route is in response to the feedback from our more athletic runners so we hope to see an increase in registration numbers.”

More information on the event and how to take part next week.
