Carluke ladies raise £900 from charity firewalk

THREE Carluke women held their nerve and hot-footed their way to Strathclyde Park for charity.

Angela Campbell, Eleanor Duncan and Janice Ord joined 19 other fundraisers taking part in a charity firewalk, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The three ladies raised a massive 900 in the process.

And although it certainly wasn't exactly a walk in the park Janice was only too happy to take part for such a fantastic cause.

She said: "It was very hot! The first step was the hardest one but when you did that you knew that you just had to keep going.

"Eleanor was the first person to do it from the whole group so it must have been very daunting for her but in the end most of us did it twice.

"It was quite a strange experience because while I was on there I didn't feel the heat until after the event.

"Angela and Eleanor said that their feet were too hot while they were doing the walk but I didn't feel like that until we were going home."
