Carluke man Gavin Whitefield receives a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List

North Lanarkshire Council Chief Executive, and former Lanark Grammar pupil, Gavin Whitefield has been awarded a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

The Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) is one of the highest honours the Queen can bestow and the award was made in recognition of his contribution to local government.

“Over the last 35 years I have been very privileged to have worked in a number of different roles in local government along with many exceptional people,” said Gavin.

“It is therefore extremely humbling to be honoured in this way.”
