Carluke Rotary members spring trip...stranded in snow!

CARLUKE Rotary Club members’ weekend spring break to Northern Ireland turned into a nightmare – when their bus got stuck in several feet of drifting snow.

Rotary president Archie Ralston and 15 of his colleagues got stranded in a blizzard which blighted their trip to the Giant’s Causeway tourist attraction.

“I’d never experienced conditions like that in my life before,” Archie said. “It was the fiercest snow I’d ever seen.

“At least everything that happened made it a memorable tour!”

To find out more about the Rotarians trip, pick up a copy of this week’s Carluke and Lanark Gazette which is in the shops now.
