Carluke skydivers raise £3500 for Haiti hospital

BUSINESSMEN Kenny Purdie and George Babes leapt from a plane 5500 feet up during a recent tandem skydive in Barcelona to raise money for charity.

And they enjoyed it so much they volunteered to do a repeat jump just two hours later!

“I was glad that I hadn’t eaten any lunch that day,” said Kenny. “But it was the best experience of my life. It was all thanks to George. If he hadn’t done it, then neither would I.”

Their efforts raised a marvellous £3500 to help pay for the construction of a new hospital in Haiti, the small Caribbean island devastated by an earthquake in 2010.

“We’ve already had a letter thanking us for the money from fundraising organisers Morris Furnishing,” Kenny added.
