Carluke’s Caragh McKay wins Irish dancing championship

FOR three years in a row, Carluke dance sensation Caragh McKay has secured a trophy and sash for triumphing at the Scotland Championships.

St Athanasius Primary School pupil Caragh (9), of Glenmavis Crescent, wowed judges with her Irish dancing at the event’s latest staging in Livingston.

Her proud mum Christine said: “Caragh does lots of different dances. In this competition she was first in the under-nine pre-open section, doing a hornpipe heavy dance.

“She also did a heavy jig and a reel, among others.

“Caragh has danced all her life and has shown terrific dedication. I’m thrilled by her successes.”
