Carluke’s Crawforddyke youngsters have jammy day at the farm

Youngsters from Carluke’s Crawforddyke Primary saw pigs, horses, cows, chickens and grain on their visit to Overton Farm in the Clyde Valley.

But what put the jam on their visit, was the selection of sandwiches with home made preserves!

“They made us jam sandwiches,” said teacher Joanne Braid who, with colleague Lynsey Edment and two parent helpers, accompanied over 30 children.

“They told us how they freeze fruit, so they can make jam throughout the whole year. The children had plum jam and strawberry jam sandwiches.”
