Carluke’s Gill Murray and Ann Young raise £1640 for Action Medical Research

CARLUKE fundraiser Gill Murray battled through horrendous windy and rainy conditions to complete a four-mile walk around Strathclyde Park and help raise £1640 for the charity Action Medical Research.

“It was the tail end of Hurricane Katia at the time and the weather was absolutely terrible,” said Gill, who did the walk with around 40 other volunteers including Ann Young, owner of Jean Sinclair shoe shop in Carluke High Street.

“It was pouring down and utterly miserable, so we’re extra grateful to everyone who lent their support to the walk this year.
