Carnwath lady Meg Struthers celebrates her 100th birthday

REMARKABLE Carnwath lady Meg Struthers is still as sharp as a tack, cooks her own meals and has a mobile phone – at the ripe old age of 100.

Meg – who worked on family farms before retiring at the age of 64 way back in 1976 – can hear clearly and has a memory which would put many younger people to shame.

The pensioner, who received her telegram from the Queen on Monday, said: “I can’t believe I’ve reached 100.”
