Carnwath Show 2010

EVEN experienced farmers struggle to shear a sheep in less than two minutes.

So you can imagine the looks of astonishment on the faces of spectators who witnessed superfast shearing in as little as 28 seconds at Saturday's Carnwath Show!

Experts, including pros from New Zealand, Ireland and Wales, wowed the evening crowd for two hours at the event at Heads Inn Farm.

Earlier the show featured more than 600 high class animals including cattle, sheep, horses, poultry and rabbits.

"The sheep shearing was very impressive," said Carnwath Show president Kenny Dunlop (41). "There were more than 200 people watching it and it was incredible that 28 seconds was the best time."

Another undoubted show highlight was the animal judging, which culminated in an overall Champion of Champions triumph for the Limousin bull of Bogside man Ian Nimmo.

Kenny said: "Ian's winning animal was a good size, in tremendous shape and showed himself really well."
