Carnwath’s Les Hunter goes to the rescue of the Staffies

CRUSADING against a breed of canine being unjustly branded Devil Dogs isn’t everyone’s idea of a relaxing retirement.

However, Les Hunter, of Carnwath’s West End, was never a conventional sort of bloke – and he’s getting no more predictable as he approaches his 70th birthday.

After a working life devoted to the wellbeing of troubled human beings at the nearby State Hospital, Les has turned his attentions to the welfare of a breed of man’s best friend fast being demonised as his worst enemy, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
