Carstairs hospital chief executive moves on

THE State Hospital at Carstairs has announced that its current chief executive is moving on.

As reported in the Gazette, Andreana Adamson stepped aside from her post last summer while investigations were underway into issues at the hospital, including special payments to senior staff members.

But meantime Andreana has not been idle, working on the long called-for reforms which would see responsibility for the healthcare of people in police custody transferred from Police Scotland to the NHS.
