Carstairs villagers take pharmacy fight from Holyrood to Hamilton

The anger of a group of Clydesdale villagers at the loss of a valued rural medical service has swung dramatically from Holyrood to Hamilton.

Earlier this month around 50 villagers went to Holyrood to protest about a Lanarkshire Health Board decision to allow a private pharmacy to open in Lanark Road, a move they saw as dooming their GPs’ dispensary service.

They were told not to blame the Government and that the Health Board could save their dispensary.

So it was to the Board protestors took their fight last Wenesday.
