Celebrating local volunteers
Volunteers in East Dunbartonshire are being celebrated as part of national Volunteers’ Week.
Helpers in aid of good causes come in all shapes and sizes, from schoolboy fundraisers to campaigners trying to change council policy, and all play a vital role in the local community.
The lunch takes place in East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action’s offices at noon today (Thursday) and is celebrating a range of volunteers.
On Friday evening there is an event at Bearsden Ski Club where Saltire volunteering awards will be presented, along with some long service awards for volunteers in the Befrienders.
