The Celebrity Quiz night will see the Rangers and Scotland legend asking the football round, and Nick Robinson posing the news questions.

Other well-known names also look set to join them for the Saturday, April 13 Clarkston Halls event.

The night is organised as the main fundraiser in Mr Murphy’s London marathon fundraising effort to help soldiers who have suffered life changing injuries.

He told The Extra: “I’m delighted that Graeme Souness and Nick Robinson have agreed to be at the end of the phone as guest quizmasters. This promises to be a unique night for a great cause.

“It will be a night with a difference and can help make a real change in the lives of some of the soldiers who have sacrificed so much for our country. It’s a way of East Renfrewshire saying thank you and supporting them.”
