Chance to find out about Lennoxtown Hub

People are being offered the chance to find out more about services and facilities which will be available when Lennoxtown Community Hub opens early next year.

An afternoon drop-in awareness session, between 3pm and 4.30pm, and an evening event from 6pm and 7.30pm, have been organised at Campsie Memorial Hall on Wednesday (October 28) to let people know what will be on offer.

Work is underway on the £5.29m Hub which will bring East Dunbartonshire Council, library, leisure and cultural services under one roof.

There will also be healthcare services - including GP surgeries - in conjunction with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Council officers from the Community Protection, Trading Standards and Environmental Health teams will be on hand with information about a variety of services they offer in Lennoxtown.

Representatives from EDLC Trust will be also be available to provide information on current services.

families, a Tablets Tips for Beginners session, 3D printing and a Relaxing Reads session.

A number of healthcare services will be represented at the event including Lennoxtown Medical Practice and Peelview Medical Practice, Nursing service, Podiatry and Physiotherapy services, Health Improvement, Mental Health services and Addiction services.The Lennoxtown Community Police Officer and the Citizens Advice Bureau will also be there to answer any comments and questions.

Councillor Rhondda Geekie, leader of East Dunbartonshire Council, said: “I would urge anyone who wants to know more about the services and facilities which will be provided within the Hub to go along to one of the drop-in sessions on October 28.

“Bringing together a wide range of council services under one roof in an exciting and innovative way will help us deliver services more efficiently to our residents and improve their experience of dealing with the council.”
