Charity single for Kirkintilloch singing star

A rising star who is tipped for the top is using her voice to raise awareness of homelessness.

Katie Sutherland, from Kirkintilloch, is one of 25 Scottish music artists to feature on ‘(All I Need Is) A Little Shelter’ for the charity Shelter Scotland.

Katie, formerly of Pearl and the Puppets, decided to get involved in the single, organised by music producer Andy Haldane, as the cause is close to her heart.

The former St Ninian’s High School pupil said: “Homelessness and housing issues can affect anyone and everyone - especially in the current economic climate.

“No one can say that will never be me, as you just don’t know what is around the corner.

“It’s a really big issue with more people at risk of losing their homes now than ever before, so the work Shelter does is vital.”

Producer Andy said: “If the single helps just one homeless person it will have been all worthwhile and a great achievement.

‘(All I Need Is A) Little Shelter’ is released on Monday, October 28, on iTunes and all good digital music retailers.
