Cheers as pub opening brings jobs to town
CUMBERNAULD town centre will have a lavishly appointed new pub by Friday (January 20) – with an employment boost as a chaser.
For pub chain JD Wetherspoon will open The Carrick Stone on the former Mortimers premises in a move that has brought a welcome 50 new jobs to the town.
The company has spent £1.2million re-developing the Teviot Walk unit, which has lain vacant for more than a year after the sudden closure of the short-lived watering hole.
