Choir’s annual concert raises the roof

ONE of Kirkintilloch’s most popular choirs entertained over 500 people recently.

The Kirkintilloch Male Voice Choir held their 91st annual concert on Saturday, March 31, in St Mary’s Parish Church.

The event was kicked off with accompanist David Burns playing the Prince of Denmark’s March on the organ and finished with an encore of The Rhythm of Life when Nancy Burns joined her husband David for a piano duet.

Conductress Sally McLellan helped the choir serve up a varied programme which started with Beethoven’s Creation Hymn before performances of Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring and The Vicar of Dibley theme tune The Lord is My Shepherd.
