Christmas fayre adds £2718 for village park campaign

Kirkfieldbank Park Campaign pulled a real cracker with their Christmas Fayre, which raised a staggering £2718. A huge turn-out of festive shoppers, keen to support a new park, were treated to a warm welcome, Christmassy refreshments, sweets, handicrafts, home-baking, tombola and raffle.

Claudia Beamish MSP and Councillors Catherine McClymont and Ed Archer were among those supporting it.

Councillor McClymont said “They are extremely enthusiastic and I am sure they will get the backing of the Community to help raise funding to match what the council have to offer.”

Tesco Lanark has chosen the park campaign as one of its local projects, and store representatives were on hand to help, also supplying tea, coffee and biscuits.

Kirkfieldbank Primary shared the event, with the children wowing buyers with products from their Enterprise projects, including Christmas baubles and sweets, raising £391.50 for school funds.
