Christmas has come to Milngavie

Milngavie was filled with Christmas cheer at the weekend when the Christmas lights were switched on by Alistair Kellock, former Scotland rugby captain.

The first ever St Andrew’s Festival to celebrate Scottish culture and heritage was also held in Milngavie the same day.

The town was filled with Scottish music, Highland dancing, a pipe band parade, free tasting of Scotland’s Natural Larder dishes, Scottish market, ceilidh music and to keep the little ones entertained, the BID organised arts and craft activities, puppet storytelling, face painting and even special appearances from Disney’s Frozen characters Elsa and Olaf!

St Andrew’s Festival in Milngavie received support as a part of Scotland’s Winter Festivals, a programme of events funded by EventScotland.
