Santa took time out his very busy schedule to be part of the special ceremony and he was joined by the winners of an art competition, Sam Smith (8) from Milngavie and Hayley Speedie (6) from Bearsden.

The event, which was organised by Milngavie BID, has been hailed as a huge success with about 10,000 visitors on the day and some traders reporting record takings.
