Church group visit parliament

MEMBERS of Cumbernauld Old Parish Church’s Men’s Group got a taste for politics when they visited the Scottish Parliament recently.

The group were welcomed by MSP Jamie Hepburn and were given a tour of the building and a chance to watch First Ministers Questions.

Mr Hepburn has previously met with the group and was invited to speak at one of their meetings at Cumbernauld Old Parish Church in Cumbernauld Village.

It was arranged for the group to receive a tour from one of the Scottish Parliament’s dedicated tour guides and then tickets to watch First Minister’s Questions from the public gallery.

He said: “From the responses of Cumbernauld Old Parish Men’s Group, I think everyone thoroughly enjoyed both the tour and watching FMQ’s live.

“Following our previous meeting I was very happy to welcome members of Cumbernauld Old Parish Men’s Group to the Scottish Parliament, and I would also like to state that I am happy to meet with any other groups or individuals and arrange similar visits to the Scottish Parliament.

“If any group or individual from Cumbernauld and Kilsyth would like me to meet with them or they would like to visit the Scottish Parliament, all they have to do is contact my constituency office & make such arrangements.”
