Clarkston kids are wrapped up in books

CLARKSTON children popped into the library on Saturday to sign up for the Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge.

The scheme encourages kids to join the library and read six books during the summer holiday. Around 95 East Renfrewshire youngsters took up the challenge, inspired by this year’s theme Creepy House, which allows those taking part to collect trader cards and explore more and more of the haunted house with every book they read.

East Ren councillor Mary Montague said: “I’m sure it will inspire and motivate our young readers.”
