Clydesdale frozen out of Viridor eco-compensation payments

Clydesdale will be the ONLY part of South Lanarkshire frozen out of future share-outs of hundreds of thousands of pounds in eco-compensation payments.

This was revealed following an anonymous tip-off to the Gazette about a shake-up in how South Lanarkshire Council’s major private waste disposal contractor, Viridor, channels its payments of donations to worthy local causes.

These grants are a financial spin-off for the company being allowed to operate a landfill site in South Lanarkshire.
