Clydesdale horses return to their traditional home
First held in 1937, the event usually attracts about 40 of the famous horses to the Home of the Clydesdale, Lanark.
Many of the older horses have been award winners.
Clydesdales of all ages will be competing, but the show, at Lanark Agricultural Centre, focuses on foals born this year.

“Come and enjoy watching the meticulous preparation and grooming of these gentle giants, as well as seeing them strut their stuff for the judge and audience,” said secretary Dorothy Combe. “It truly is a magnificent sight.”
The show is on Saturday, October 29. Entry for spectators is free. Admission is from 9am, with judging from 10am.
This year’s judge is Ronnie Noble, of Stewarton.
A snack bar, restaurant and refreshment bar will be open. There will also be a raffle.
