Clydesdale's threatened primary schools are saved

FIRST the good news...Clydesdale's threatened primary schools have been saved.

Indeed, the only solid decision taken at the crunch meeting of the council's executive committee was to tear up the death warrants for eleven Clydesdale primary schools, earmarked for closure under the original Doomsday scenario.

It means that Abington, Crawford, Leadhills, Coulter, Tinto, Lamington, Libberton, Bent, Blackwood, Carstairs Village and Carstairs Junction Primaries have all been removed from the council cutbacks hitlist, bringing huge sighs of relief from parents throughout rural Clydesdale.
