Visitors are invited to compete in the first ever Auchlochan Welly Wanging Championship or show off their mountaineering skills on the climbing wall. Alternatively, Fair visitors can just take it easy while listening to live music provided by the Coalburn Bronze Band and The Strathaven Strummers or they can even try their hand at willow basketry weaving.

Auchlochan’s famous walled garden will be open as usual where visitors can see a variety of beautiful seasonal flowers.

A variety of entertainment will be laid on to keep the kids busy with games on the lawn, a bouncy castle and a penalty shoot-out for all of the budding Ronaldos out there.

If Robin Hood is more their thing then the archery zone is the place to head where an expert will be on hand to provide tuition.

A car boot sale will also be taking place. Members of the public who would like to join in with the fun are still able to book a space by contacting customer services.

The show homes at Nethanvale, the latest addition at Auchlochan Garden Village, will be open to the public with complimentary cream teas available for those who tour the development.

The Auchlochan bus will be doing hourly tours around the site for anyone who requires transport to and from the retirement village centre, making the day accessible for all.

Lesley McNeill, area manager for MHA, said: “We love this time of year when we open our doors to families, friends and the wider community to join us for the Country Fair.

“It’s always a great day out for all the family – fingers crossed for some lovely weather!”
