

Last Wednesday, April 3, Kilsyth and Villages Community Forum held their monthly meeting in St Patrick’s Primary School, Backbrae Street, Kilsyth. Bob Brownlie, Area Housing Manager for North Lanarkshire Council, was in attendance and gave a presentation on the recently implemented changes to Housing Benefit.
On Monday 8th April the Jubilee Play Park Group welcomed the return of a play park to the Jubilee Park in Cumbernauld Village, with a sod cutting ceremony. The play park is expected to be completed and open for use in time for the Summer school holidays.

This Thursday, April 11, at 7pm in Cumbernauld College, the AGM of Cumbernauld Environmental Society will take place where the group will discuss their plans and proposed projects for the coming year. Guest speaker will be Ian McKenzie from the Scottish Wildlife Trust who will talk about the new Cumbernauld Living Landscape Project.
This Saturday, April 13, the Cottage Beat Club takes over Cumbernauld Theatre with their latest monthly music event. From 7pm local acts will take to the stage with new band Deshi Basara, local singer Ryan Joseph Burns, and Cumbernauld band Madison performing on the night.
